Your St Lucia Holiday

St Lucia Beach at the Almond Montego Bay resort, St Lucia St Lucia Beach at the Almond Morgan Bay resort, St Lucia.

St Lucia is a small island in the Caribbean featuring magnificent beauty. Twin cone shaped hills rise out of the azure sea and provide a paradise holiday setting complete with tropical landscapes and romantic picturesque beaches.

Rainforests

Most of the island is covered in rainforest teeming with wildlife and birds. Exploring this region on foot will reveal a fantasy faerie land of giant ferns, towering trees, twisted vines, wild orchids and colourful birds. The forests houses and protects a number of endangered species too such as the St Lucia Parrot, the White Breasted Thrasher, the St Lucia Oriole and the St Lucia Pee Wee which are native only to this region. Your holiday itinerary should include at least one outing into the forests of St Lucia. You can choose from the numerous guided tours that are available, opt for a hike on one of the marked trails or settle down in the dappled sunlight at a delightful and serene picnic area.

Other natural features

Soufriere Estate’s Diamond Botanical Gardens is St Lucia’s Garden of Eden. The waterfall here cascade over rust brown rocks and is surrounded by lush vegetation blooming with colourful flowers. The mineral baths here are renowned for their soothing and healing properties providing a natural spa retreat on your holiday. Mt Soufriere was once an active volcano over forty thousand years ago. It is now just a shell with hot sulphur springs and vapour jets. Upon visiting the volcano you can walk inside it and admire the six divine waterfalls that emerge from it.

In and around the water

The entire island is reminiscent of an age old children’s story featuring shipwrecks and pirates. Though the luxurious hotels will make you feel nothing less than pampered, the peaceful environment is sure to still induce the feeling of perfect seclusion in your private slice of paradise. The beaches are not only a location for idle strolls and sunbathing but also a variety of water sports including fishing and deep sea fishing. Anse Cochon and Anse Chastanet are two reefs that those taking a diving holiday should explore. Colourful marine life and coral are in abundance with the added bonus of a shipwreck to explore. Cruises around the island are just another way to enjoy the superb beauty and soak up the serenity that St Lucia offers.

Golf

Golf lovers needn’t exclude their favourite pastime from their holiday. Two exquisite golf courses are located on the island and are each equipped with a fully stocked nineteenth hole and pro-shop too!
