Le Grande Courlan Tobago

Situated on an incline, Le Grande Courlan Resort & Spa is easily accessible from the important attractions of Tobago and yet not crowded. The nearby rainforests and less populated part of the coast make this a haven in the island's otherwise crowded locales. The entire resort premise takes up a side of the hill and involves some steep climbing. The presence of a wheelchair and the rampant availability of ramps make this easily accessible to the physically debilitated.

Facilities

The varied avian population makes this an ideal place for bird watching enthusiasts. Scuba diving with certified divers is another popular activity. Go horseback riding on the beach or take a cycle tour of the mountains if you can take the arduous activity. Golf enthusiasts can use the 18-hole golf course of nearby resorts.

Fishing is an important local activity and there are choices of deep sea, fresh water, fishing tours or a round with the locals. Do not venture on these trips alone since local intelligence is needed to warn you off fresh water cayman and poisonous trees to be avoided. Angling is allowed along the coastal reefs and provides a rewarding experience due to the large fish that come by.

Strong swimmers can try swimming in the sea after considering all the necessary precautions. Water sports like skiing and boating are to be had on request. For the less adventurous, the resort has pools with a swim up bar that allows you to lounge in the pool with a drink.

Buffet style breakfasts with made to order egg dishes make for a fulfilling start to the day. Main meals are both buffet and ordered from the menu. Caribbean and intercontinental cuisines are available.

Rooms

Smoking rooms are separately available for visitors. The supple furnishings and bathrobes provide a sense of luxury in all rooms. An independent patio with a sit out can be accessed through wide French doors.

Deluxe rooms

These come with the external view options of the sea and the gardens. Double beds or king sized beds are available. Some rooms are fitted with a Jacuzzi next to the patio.

Suites

The suite provides a bedroom and a living room with two bathrooms. One bathroom has a Jacuzzi while the other has a regular tub and shower combine. The ocean view can be seen from the private patio and provides a separating door between the bedroom and living room.
